All VerdiLab formulas are based on the ideas of our team of scientists led by Victoria, our Founder. While creating Verdilab, we use the latest discoveries in biology, immunology and dermatology combined with our in-house knowledge about the best natural marine, botanical and mineral ingredients obtained through biotechnology or gentle extraction. We are continuously developing new scientific ideas, and you can be sure that we will come up with new breakthrough ideas in the very near future.

The process of creation starts from ingredient selection. We use only the best quality natural ingredients with scientifically confirmed efficacy and safety - even if they are more expensive than their alternatives. To be sure the chosen ingredient is the best one, we check everything we can – its source of origin, way of obtaining, purity, proof that no animal derivatives, even in production processes, have been used, as well as a fair-trade certificate. Then, we follow with thorough research of its functional properties. Due to our deep scientific knowledge, we understand how natural substances work, even on a cellular level, as well as how they interact with each other. We never compromise on product quality. That means we always use the best active ingredients in the most appropriate, effective and highest concentrations, so that our products work – they are not just marketing declarations.

All of our formulas are developed by our R&D team. We responsibly formulate according to the ISO Global Standard 16128 and Cosmos Organic standard. The entire process of formula development for one product takes about a year. Observing the richness and complexity of nature, we believe that to be truly effective, cosmetic formulas should also be rich and complex. We don't believe in the miraculous effects of one ingredient inside a jar. We all understand that in order to eat healthy, our diet should be natural, balanced and rich in various nutrients. Why would skin biology work any differently? Our formulas are extremely rich in Marine and Botanical actives. They are 100% natural and of natural origin. That means we never use any synthetic or toxic ingredients. In our formulations we avoid over 50 groups of formula building ingredients still used by the majority of conventional brands. For example, we never use any silicones, synthetic preservatives, including parabens and phenoxyethanol, micro or nanoplastics, synthetic polymers, acrylates, phthalates, sulphates, alcohol or many other. Even the preservatives and fragrances that we use are 100% natural and of natural origins. It makes our work much more difficult, but it also makes our formulas safe. All formulas are 100% vegan, and we never test our cosmetics on animals. All this gives us the right to say that our formulas are in perfect harmony with the skin, while being safe even for the most sensitive skin. Instead of fillers, such as water or silicones, which constitute up to 90% of the content of conventional cosmetics, we use organic algae serum as well as floral and herbal waters as a formula base. Due to their richness in microelements and vitamins, they provide beneficial nutrients to the skin. And last but not least - we never apply ready-to-use formulas created by someone else. You can be sure our products are 100% proprietary, unique, and developed from scratch.

When product formulations are ready we start a long process of various formula tests. Some of them are required for cosmetics by law. But we do not limit ourselves to these, so we conduct our own additional safety studies. We need to be sure our formulas are safe and stable, which means they will not change consistency or properties within the time and will be totally protected against microbes, yeasts and molds.
We also need to be sure that the packaging we use is neutral and safe for the cosmetics inside.
The health of the skin and the planet is our great commitment. That is why we do not use any plastic containers at all – no bottles, jars or tubes – to minimize emissions of plastic to our skin and our environment. We use only premium quality glass containers.
To be absolutely sure about a product’s safety, we run multilevel challenge tests that give us confirmation that our products provide effective, broad spectrum antimicrobial, antifungal and anti-mold protection.

When a formulation is ready and checked, the multilevel process of clinical studies begins. We implement our own rules for clinical research, cooperating with Swiss, Italian and French independent laboratories to be sure that our products are safe and effective. We run dermatological tests on all our products on people with sensitive skin to eliminate any risk of use and to be able to responsibly claim that a product is safe for consumers with sensitive skin. All the products used under the eyes are additionally tested by ophthalmologists. For each and every product, we additionally conduct functionality tests on groups of people with sensitive skin (30-50 persons) checking their opinions on how a product works after at least 21 days of regular use. Besides this consumer assessment, we use a number of in-vivo and in-vitro instrumental tests applying different measurements of particular product functions.
